Sorento, Italy - Day 11

After leaving Pompeii we continued South along the coast to Sorrento which is about another hour and 20 minutes and is part of the Amalfi coast. Due to our packed schedule we didn't get to stay very long, but we did get to have lunch at Ristorante la Basilica which is located just off the Piazza Tasso. Our meal consisted of the typical three course Italian meal of regional favorites that were delicious. After lunch we proceeded down to the ferry terminal to catch our jetfoil to Capri for the remainder of our day.

If you have ever been on a jetfoil then you know it is an interesting experience. It looks like any regular ferry, but it moves much faster than a ferry. The jetfoil is able to lift itself out of the water so it can glide above the waves so it doesn't take as long to get from one place to another. As a passenger it typically is a smooth ride where you feel like you are just scooting aross the top of the water. (Note: When you get on one of these things make sure they have the air going. Our ride over to Capri it was like riding in a fast moving oven. The one we had coming back to Naples was much cooler.)
